Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications using the Laravel framework, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to front-end requests.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic using PHP and Laravel.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices in software development.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs to support mobile and web applications, ensuring seamless data exchange between the server and client-side interfaces.
- Manage and build MySQL databases, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and integrity.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications to enhance their performance and user experience.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Document development processes, code changes, and application architecture to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding new team members.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including project managers, QA, and designers to deliver high-quality software solutions on time.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to bring innovative solutions to the development process.
- Actively participate in team meetings, providing updates on project progress and discussing potential improvements and challenges.
- Utilize version control systems, specifically Git, to manage and collaborate on code changes effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 0-5 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on PHP and the Laravel framework.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining MySQL databases and writing complex SQL queries.
- Solid understanding of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with the ability to create responsive user interfaces.
- Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs, with a clear understanding of API architecture and design principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and debug issues effectively.
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git, for code collaboration and management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with additional PHP frameworks such as Symfony or CodeIgniter is a plus.
- Knowledge of front-end frameworks or libraries such as Vue.js, React, or Angular is advantageous.
- Understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
- Familiarity with deployment tools and server management, including cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Experience working with unit testing and automated testing frameworks to ensure code quality.
- Contributions to open-source projects or a solid portfolio demonstrating previous work and projects.
- Familiarity with web security principles and best practices to protect applications from vulnerabilities.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker is a plus.
- Previous experience or internships in a startup or fast-paced development environment is preferred.
